February Cornerstone: Teamwork
Lessons from Boys in the Boat
From Boys in the Boat, the unlikely true story of the University of Washington rowing crew who won the gold medal at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin.
"Somehow all this must mesh. That’s the steepest challenge. Even after the right mixture is found, each man or woman in the boat must recognize his or her place in the fabric of the crew, accept it, and accept the others as they are. It is an exquisite thing when it all comes together in just the right way."
Lesson 3: Recognizing Our Place in the Crew and Accepting Others
While the challenge of getting everyone on a team to mesh is steep, when we all recognize and accept our place in the fabric of the crew and accept others the way they are, great things happen.
Thank you for the crucial role you play in working with our teachers and staff to create success for our students.

D93 Board News
In Board Meeting we reported our graduation rates for the class of 2023, which as recently reported in Idaho Education News, were the highest of the 10 largest districts in the state. This outstanding accomplishment is the result of the collaborative work of our teachers, counselors, principals and support staff to help every student succceed.
Even more remarkable than the increased graduation rate, is that we have decreased the gap in graduation rates between our students in poverty homes and those who are not by half. And 9 out of 10 of those students are also earning college credit while in high school. Those outcomes will have a lifelong impact for these students who now have more opportunities than ever before.
