Superintendent's Message
October Cornerstone: Teamwork
I love this definition of community. When we talk about PLCs--Professional Learning Communities--in District 93, this is exactly what we mean by being a community of professional learners. Our commitment to grow together continues to create better and better results for our students. This week, Idaho Education News recognized Bonneville School District for having the greatest percentage of students improve in their reading ability from fall to spring of any large district in the state.
Reminder: Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent teacher conferences are also right around the corner and we hope you will take the time to meet with your child's teachers so that together we can learn how to best meet the individual needs of your student. Here is the schedule for fall parent teacher conferences, please note that Middle School PTC has changed their times. They run from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Elementary - October 17th - 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. AND October 19th - 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- Middle School - October 16th - 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Warning re: Videos of Terrorist Acts on Social Media
CNN has reported that schools in Israel, the UK and the US are advising parents to delete their children’s social media apps over concerns that Hamas militants will broadcast or disseminate disturbing videos of hostages who have been seized in recent days.
We urge our teachers and parents to be extra vigilant in monitoring your children's' social media in the event that this horrific threat becomes a reality. We will also take appropriate precautions for students' access at school.
