ADMINISTRATION <br />6115 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />DUTIES AND POWERS OF THE SUPERINTENDENT <br />As executive officer of the Board of Trustees, the Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br />Superintendent is the administrative head of all divisions and departments of the <br />District. <br />Guidelines <br />1. Responsibility for the execution of policies is delegated to the Superintendent of <br />Schools, the chief Administrative Officer of the District. <br />2. He /she may use professional discretion in making administrative assignments as <br />may be deemed appropriate and needful for the operation of the School District. <br />3. In cases where action must be taken within the school system, and the Board of <br />Trustees has provided no policy for administrative action, the Superintendent shall <br />have the power to act, subject to review by the Board. <br />4. The Superintendent shall inform the Board promptly of such action, and of the need <br />for policy. <br />Specific Duties and Powers <br />The Superintendent shall have the specific duties and powers which follow and shall be <br />directly responsible to the Board for their exercise. <br />Duties <br />1. In conjunction with the Trustee Members, develop annual goals for the District. <br />2. Develop a district -wide facility requirement plan to cover the District construction and <br />capital needs for a minimum of a five -year period as needed, with an annual update <br />to keep the plan current. <br />3. Develop a program of communication and be reasonably responsible to media <br />requests for information on non - confidential matters affecting the District's business. <br />4. Inform the Board of matters which may have negative legal, moral, or public opinion <br />consequences. <br />5. Develop and maintain frequent and open communications with the Teacher's <br />Association, and other employee groups. <br />6. Develop sound relationships with surrounding school districts and State Department <br />of Education officials. <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br />
